From June 18th to 20th, 2025, the energy at Nana Ankobea Takyiwa School in Aburi was electric — not from technology alone, but from hope, creativity, and vision.
As part of our mission to equip young Africans with future-forward digital skills, IRISE Next Gen partnered with the Great-U Foundation to bring a 3-day immersive tech workshop to 153 brilliant students between the ages of 10 and 18.
Day 1: Inspiration Meets Imagination
The workshop kicked off with an empowering talk from Anita Mirekua Ampomah of Great-U Foundation, setting the tone for a transformative experience.
Students were introduced to 3D animation through Maxon Cinema 4D and grouped into smaller batches to ensure hands-on learning. Their first challenge? Model a traditional African hut — and they rose to the occasion beautifully.

Day 2: From Vision to Virtual
The second day dove deeper into digital creativity. Students explored texturing and material application as they refined their African hut models. They also got to recreate a biscuit package (Nutrisnax), blending branding with design.

Day 3: From Screen to Reality
We wrapped up the workshop with lessons in lighting, rendering, and Augmented Reality (AR). The highlight? Seeing their models come to life on Snapchat — reaching over 30,000 users overnight!
The day ended with another motivational session and a Menstrual Hygiene talk by Adowa Mirekua, reinforcing our commitment to holistic youth development.

🌍 Impact That Lasts
This wasn’t just a workshop — it was a spark. A seed. An ignition of purpose. Students who had never touched 3D software before were now visualizing futures as creators, designers, and digital leaders.
“I never knew I could create something like this until today!” — A student participant
We saw confidence rise, skills sharpen, and minds expand — all in just 3 days.
Let’s Keep Rising
We’re grateful to the leadership and staff of Nana Ankobea Takyiwa School for welcoming us. The success of this workshop reminds us: when youth are given the tools, they will build the future.
